EchoPBX uses Asterisk under the hood, and Asterisk does not support Windows, so you cannot install it on Windows directly. You can install Docker Desktop on Windows and run EchoPBX as a container there.

Only SIP. It is by far the most used VoIP protocol, and supporting just SIP keeps things simple. If you need other protocols such as IAX2, FreePBX is very feature rich.

When SIP (5060) and the web interface (8740) were published in bridge mode, some phones had trouble connecting to Asterisk, and when they did connect there was no audio. --network=host works reliably. Bridge mode support is still being looked into.

No. A typical frontend maps every key in the config file to a textbox or checkbox. EchoPBX abstracts away many of Asterisk's complexities instead. That might not be for everyone, and if you prefer the traditional approach, FreePBX is a great alternative.

Yes. EchoPBX is open source and licensed under the GNU GPL v2. The source is on GitHub.
